Our Team
The management of the 13th Village comprises of a small group of individuals, all committed to advocating for leprosy villagers.

Abby Barnes
Founder and President
Abby is a rising senior at Dickinson HS. Besides working with leprosy villagers, she loves art, jazz, Tyler the Creator, traveling, and meeting new people. In the future, she plans on pursuing either political science or economics for a career in government--to better advocate for the people she loves. Additionally, she plans on attending law school.

Jacey Long
Outreach/Vice Lead
Jacey Long advocates for civil rights & education access, working with nonprofits like Freedom School to empower underprivileged youth through cultural education. Passionate about clean energy, he hopes to advance nuclear fusion as a sustainable alternative to fossill fuels. Beyond academics, he explores surrealist art, experimental music, and boundary-pushing forms of expression that reflect the human experience.

Michaela Onwodi
Social Media Lead
Michaela Onwodi is a dedicated student with a huge interest in engineering. In her spare time, she loves exploring new areas and pushing herself with powerlifting. Michaela hopes to one day turn her passion into her career as an aerospace engineer, where she can design and shape the next generation of flight and space exploration.

Jimena Martinez
Social Media Officer
Jimena chases her dream of becoming a well-known film director/producer at Dickinson High School. The need to express thoughts, experiences, and stories through the cinematography drives her, and besides her evident passion, she enjoys traveling, dining, sculpting, and learning Japanese in hopes of understanding Ado's (her idol & favorite singer) songs and podcasts.

Cherish Winterbottom
Social Media Officer
Cherish Winterbottom is currently 16 and a student at William P. Clements High school. Her hobbies are art and instruments. Some goals She has in life are to build a large network of people that she can trust and to learn more about Chinese culture so she can connect with the Chinese side of her family.

Zhilan Qi
Social Media Officer
Zhilan Qi is a l0th-grade student. She enjoys drawing and is especially interested in art. She is working hard to improve her skills, and her dream is to become an animation creator. She also has other hobbies, such as writing novels and listening to music. She hopes to do her part in helping others as well.

Syrahni Easley
Writer
Syrahni, driven by righteousness and medicine, is a junior at Dickinson High School. She is passionate about medicine and righteousness. Her dream is to become a cardiothoracid surgeon. Her fascination with the heart has driven herself to self-study, and she advocates for environmental protection and people in poverty
